A giant in the IT/telecommunications indirect sales channel is moving on.
Verizon’s Janet Schijns
Janet Schijns, Verizon‘s channel chief, is leaving the company to pursue new opportunities, a spokesperson said.
Schijns served as vice president of global channels and vice president of Verizon Business Markets. She led the Verizon Partner Program, and worked with the company since 2010.
Joe Chuisano will step in as director of global channels. He previously worked as managing director of Verizon Business Markets, a vertical-oriented business unit that Verizon founded in conjunction with the purchase of XO Communications’ fiber optic network business. He had been reporting to Schijns.
Kevin King, director of corporate communications for Verizon Enterprise Solutions, tells Channel Partners that Scjihns will leave to pursue “personal passions.” She will end her tenure with Verizon Friday, July 14.
Verizon’s Joe Chuisano
“We are sad to see her go and wish her the best of luck, and are excited about Joe Chuisano, who was one of her lieutenants,” King said.
He says the transition will be “seamless” for Verizon’s partners.
Schijns has frequented the keynote stage at various channel conferences, particularly the Channel Partners Conference & Expo and Channel Partners Evolution. She used her presentation at our spring event to preview the future of Verizon’s partner program and the channel.
