Digital Realty Formally Announces Director of Channel Sales

CHANNEL PARTNERS — Digital Realty Trust Inc. (an Executive Sponsor) is using the Channel Partners Conference & Expo in Las Vegas to formally announce Jim Harris as its director of channel sales.

Harris has been on board since last July, tasked with building the Phoenix-based data center/colo provider’s channel program from the ground up. So far, he has implemented the following:

  • Formal deal registration

  • Channel Deal Desk with channel-centric support reps

  • A portal designed with Channeltivity where VARs, MSPs, agents, etc., can view and receive status on their deals

Digital Realty wants partners to target midmarket customers. Harris’ industry experience will help them do that. Harris joined Digital Realty from MarketStar, an outsourced sales firm whose clients included Cisco Systems. Before that, he spent time with Elemental Business as a product manager and Iomega as a quality engineer.
