GENBAND, which has been moving away from its traditional carrier roots to include unified communications for the enterprise, sold through the channel, has hired Bita Milanian as its senior vice president of marketing communications.

Milanian has spearheaded channel marketing at TelePacific Communications, and led media and entertainment marketing at Global Crossing. She is a key part of the Women in the Channel initiative; that event typically takes place the evening before each spring’s Channel Partners Conference & Expo and the Cloud Partners Conference & Expo in the fall. She comes to GENBAND from the non-profit Farhang Foundation, where she served as executive director.

Milanian reports to GENBAND CMO Brad Bush.

“Her proven track record, enhanced by her most recent commitment to running the Farhang Foundation, brings a very creative and energetic addition to our leadership team,” Bush said in a press release.
