Hewlett Packard has announced the appointment, effective immediately, of Mark Angelino as senior vice president of Global Distribution for HP Enterprise Business.

Reporting directly to Thomas Hogan, executive vice president of Sales, Marketing and Strategy for HP Enterprise Business, Angelino is tasked with supervising and managing the companys relationships with a broad range of business partners, including independent software vendors, system integrators, managed services providers, business advisory firms, network service providers and channel partners.

Its a lot to manage, considering Enterprise Business is worth roughly $54 billion, and carries some of the companys most important  product lines, including servers, storage, networking, software and services, all of which play a central part in HPs cloud services and Converged Infrastructure initiatives, two areas that are critical to HPs overall business strategy as it looks to become a full-featured, end-to-end data center solutions provider.

But Angelino is no newcomer to the field, having spent 30 years in IT and serving as executive vice president of Customer Success at Salesforce.com, where his background in SaaS will serve him in good stead as HP pursues its own cloud services portfolio. Hes credited with the successful adoption of Salesforce.coms sales, call center and platform services for the North American market. Previously, Angelino worked a number of senior posts for Sprint Nextel, including president of Sales and Distribution and president of Sprint Business Solutions. And to complete his IT pedigree, he was also a longtime employee of IBM, with executive positions in finance, marketing and sales management.

Hogan himself pointed out that Angelinos experience in cloud computing, both on the IT and service provider side, as well as his sales background, were key factors in his selection, and he expects Evangelino will help ensure HP is fully leveraging the reach, expertise and influence of our valued partners.
