IBM's Kyndryl Adds CIO to Growing List of Execs
The new hire has experience at NBC Universal and Lockheed Martin.
Kyndryl, the forthcoming IBM managed infrastructure services business, has its first chief information officer. This comes after the IT giant hired a CEO, group president and chief marketing officer earlier this year.
Kyndryl’s Michael Bradshaw
The new guy is Michael Bradshaw, who joins Kyndryl after nearly five years at NBCUniversal. He was executive vice president and CIO at the media company. Before that, he spent six years at Lockheed Martin, where he was CIO of the mission systems and training unit.
Martin Schroeter, who IBM hired as CEO of Kyndryl in January, heaped praises on his new report.
“Michael knows how to leverage technology and talent to drive business results,” said Schroeter. “And he will help our teams advance the vital systems that power human progress for our customers.”

At NBCUniversal, Bradshaw not only led the company’s global IT operations, he also oversaw its tech infrastructure, applications and IT strategy.
Expect Kyndryl, whose headquarters will be in New York City, to spin off by year’s end. The company plans to work with a diverse set of technology partners to serve a global base of 4,600 customers. Kyndryl’s goal is to help customers build “strong, secure, resilient and adaptive” digital capabilities, while sporting twice the scale of its nearest competitor.
The spinoff, which IBM announced last October, plans to capitalize on a $1 trillion hybrid cloud opportunity. The company’s acquisition of Red Hat opened the door for such a move; its open hybrid cloud platform is based on Red Hat OpenShift and the heart of its strategy.
Kyndryl’s growing executive team also includes IBM veterans Elly Keinan (group president) and Maria Bartolome Winans (CMO).
