Symantec’s channel chief is leaving the company.

The security software maker on Friday sent the following statement to press:

“John Eldh is leaving Symantec to pursue a new endeavor. His last day will be Friday, Aug. 29. We are currently contacting our partners to communicate this information directly and assure them there will be no interruption in their partnership with Symantec. We want to thank John for his many years with Symantec and wish him the best on this new opportunity.”

Eldh served as Symantec’s channel since April 2012 when he was tapped to replace Randy Cochran. He worked for Symantec before that appointment, in various capacities, since the 2005 Veritas-Symantec merger.

Symantec told Channel Partners after this story first published that Rick Kramer is stepping into Eldh’s role. Kramer is ‎vice president sales, national partners and global integrators. He has worked for Symantec since the Veritas days.
