Telarus, Zayo/Integra Alum Lands CRO Gig at Upstack
He was a top exec at Telarus and really cut his teeth in the channel at Integra Telecom.
A familiar face in the channel is the new chief revenue officer at Upstack. Scott Forbush will be responsible for growing revenue around the company’s many IT offers that include data center, connectivity and IoT.
Upstack says its platform gives buyers of IT services the technology to effectively meet their digital services needs. Furthermore, the company touts a plethora of experts to help customers along that transformational journey.
We just last week profiled Upstack for receiving what it called the largest private equity investment in agent channel history. The company got an initial $35 million investment and followed that up with $50 million from Berkshire Partners. Upstack plans to use the cash infusion to not only expand its technology lineup, but also buy other sales agencies. The company has already acquired 10 independent agencies.
Forbush is ready to jump in and drive that inorganic growth strategy.
Here’s our list of channel people on the move in March. |
Upstack’s Scott Forbush
“I’m excited to have joined the Upstack team,” said Forbush. “The vision for the company breaks the mold for telecom agencies with a deep bench of experts using technology that can scale rapidly. “Upstack is investing in advisory partners with experience in colo, connectivity, contact center, cybersecurity — you name it. The expertise that we have – and will continue to build – is unprecedented and enables us to provide the best technology solutions for our business customers.”
Channel Background
Anyone who has followed the telecom channel knows of Forbush’s long history in it. As a reminder, he most recently spent three years as senior vice president of global sales at master agency Telarus. Before that, he spent much of his career at Integra Telecom, which later became Electric Lightwave and was purchased by Zayo Group.
“We’re ecstatic that Scott has come aboard,” said Upstack CEO Christopher Trapp. “He has the experience and business acumen Upstack needs to achieve its growth goals, beginning with acquiring like-minded partners,” said Christopher Trapp, CEO at UPSTACK. “Scott’s relationships with master agents, agents and service providers of all sizes, coupled with his direct sales experience, puts him in a unique position to drive the company forward.”
Upstack identifies as a direct agency which transacts with several master agents and distributors. Its competition includes agents, subagents and internet consulting firms.
