Verizon's Janet Schijns Lands at Office Depot
It's a dramatic change for the channel veteran.
Channel veteran Janet Schijns is moving to Office Depot after a celebrated seven-year stint with Verizon.
And her new role looks quite different than it did before.
Office Depot’s Janet Schijns
Office Depot on Tuesday named Schijns senior vice president of services — copy, print and tech. She will manage Office Depot’s print production facilities “to support large scale printing capabilities.”
“Within our portfolio of service offerings, copy, print and tech services are positioned for the largest growth opportunity,” said Troy Rice, president of retail for Office Depot. “Janet’s extensive experience and proven record of driving superior business results and leading transformations make her the absolute right fit for this role. We are more than pleased to welcome her to Office Depot.”
Schijns officially left Verizon July 14. She led the company’s partner program and had recently been named vice president of the Verizon Business Markets unit. A Verizon spokesperson said she was leaving to pursue personal opportunities. Joe Chuisano replaces her as director of global channels.
“It’s an exciting time to join Office Depot and an extraordinary opportunity for me to utilize my go-to-market, program, supply chain, technology and channels skills to achieve significant growth for copy, print and tech services,” Schijns said. “With businesses burgeoning across the country, Office Depot is at the epicenter of what they need to succeed.”
Jake Heinz, chief marketing officer of Verizon Business Markets, recently spoke to Channel Partners about how Schijns departure has changed the dynamic of the business unit.
