Autotask Community Live Europe: Smart IT for MSPs & Customers?

Autotask Community Live Europe has kicked off in Barcelona. The conference has attracted roughly 300 attendees, reinforcing the company’s international momentum while also showing the continued growth of the overall managed services provider (MSP) market.

Several months ago, Autotask CEO Mark Cattini was somewhat worried the European event would only attract MSPs from the United Kingdom. But those fears were unfounded; the conference has attracted registrants from roughly 26 countries. Today’s gathering involves boot camps; tonight is the opening reception; and Thursday (Oct. 17) is Cattini’s keynote.

Over the past two years, Autotask has expanded beyond the U.S. and localized its SaaS platform for several European markets and elsewhere. It sounds like the majority of new bookings now come from outside the U.S., though Cattini has stated that Autotask re-invests the global revenues back into the platform for all users.

Meanwhile, Autotask Senior VP Len DiCostanzo said the show’s big theme is smart IT — not only for MSPs, but also for MSPs’ customers. The idea is for the MSP to demonstrate even more value to end-customers, using emerging technologies like Autotask’s expanding dashboard portfolio

Key vendors also are on hand — including AVG (which now owns Level Platforms’ Managed Workplace), Backup Agent, CentraStage, Continuum, Datto, GFI Max, IBM, Intronis, LogMeIn and N-able (now owned by SolarWinds).

Bigger Picture

The overall MSP software market continues to evolve beyond base PSA (professional services automation) and RMM (remote monitoring and management) software and SaaS solutions. Increasingly, MSPs are seeking Total Business Automation (TBA) solutions.

So where is Autotask heading next? Cattini and VP of Product Marketing Pat Burns shared some additional clues with MSPmentor recently. We’ll be back soon with more perspectives.
