Power management solution company Eaton launched the 200-600 kilowatt versions of its Power Xpert 9395 power system this week in North America. The company said the solutions will enable data centers to run more efficiently and lower total cost of ownership.
Why It’s Good for the Channel: Eaton Product Manager Katheron Garcia said the new solutions will allow partners to sell both a scalable and energy-efficient power solution for data centers, which could lead to new revenue opportunities. If true, the solutions may prove to be a way for resellers to capture the attention of small – and even micro – businesses who previously never thought of utilizing such solutions in the past.
Workspace as a service provider Itopia debuted its free Cloud Readiness Assessment Tool this month, which is designed to help channel partners map their infrastructure, measure potential risks and track remediation processes in their customers’ cloud deployments.
Why It’s Good for the Channel: Itopia Senior Vice President of Sales Scott Markley said the assessment tool is the first available solution to help channel partners determine whether or not a business is cloud ready. With this type of insight, partners can more easily plan how best to serve their customers and which services are needed most on an individual basis.
Verizon Enterprise Solutions is gearing up to launch a new cloud backup service based on Actifio’s copy data virtualization platform, the company announced this week. Verizon said the service, which is called Premise to Cloud Backup, will help virtualized infrastructure users to “enable a unified hybrid cloud environment where data is easy to manage, access and protect.”
Why It’s Good for the Channel: Anytime two companies team up on a joint solution, the level of exposure for said product increases exponentially. Current Actifio channel partners will now have access to both Verizon’s entire customer base as well as the company’s numerous technological resources, meaning said partners have the opportunity to capture more potential buyers than ever before.
