It's Friday, which means The VAR Guy is here to count down some of the latest product and solution releases that we think will have a positive impact on the channel.
Samsung Electronics America debuted the Samsung Communication Manager Compact, an all-in-one IP communications solution designed to give customers access to enterprise-grade collaboration capabilities at SMB friendly prices.

Lenovo’s recently announced Converged HX 2000 is a hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) solution for SMBs that utilizes Nutanix Xpress software to make infrastructure management easier. The solution aims to make the normally complicated functions associated with setting up and protecting a company’s infrastructure simple enough for a single administrator to handle.
Why It’s Good for the Channel: Lenovo is marketing the latest addition to its HX series as a simpler alternative to other SMB-centric infrastructure solutions, thus allowing SMBs to focus on other areas of their business. If this turns out to be true, those customers are bound to be able to turn their attention to more pressing matters, thus garnering more revenue.

Chinese electronics company Xiaomi is getting into the drone market with the release of a remote-controlled device equipped with a 4k camera for under $500. Typically, drones with high definition cameras sell for close to $1000, making Xiaomi’s offering a “budget-priced” device with premium features.
Why It’s Good for the Channel: If Xiaomi is successful in selling drones, other companies may follow suit. An influx of IoT-enabled devices like drones is also bound to create a burgeoning secondary market for software and hardware companies capable of servicing said services. Like Xiaomi itself, which is branching out into new markets to increase profit margins, perhaps channel partners can also broaden their horizons with the addition of drone management and security to their portfolios.
