Does Stifler's Aunt Work At Cisco?
April 13, 2007
The VAR Guy has never met Stifler’s mom. But he thinks he ran into Stifler’s aunt at the Cisco Partner Summit. Interested in the details? Don’t worry; despite the American Pie reference, this story is rated G (or at worst, PG). It’s safe to read this blog at work.
For those not in the know, Stifler’s mom is a Mrs. Robinson-type from the American Pie movies. And who’s Stifler’s aunt? Now we’re completely back in G-rated territory. Stifler’s aunt is a witty, outgoing, 50-something executive assistant at Cisco Systems. The VAR guy has decided not to share her real name because he doesn’t want Cisco’s switchboard and email servers to crash today.
The VAR Guy ran into Stifler’s aunt several times at the Cisco Partner Summit in Las Vegas. During one conversation, Stifler’s aunt mentioned that she’s “Queen Mum” of the Red Hot Mama’s in Los Gatos, Calif.
Again, this is a family blog so let The VAR Guy explain: The Red Hot Mama’s are part of the Red Hat Society–an organization of women “deciding to greet middle age with verve, humor and elan.”
The VAR Guy didn’t mention Stifler’s aunt in the Top 100 Cisco Partner Summit Highlights. Why not? He figured she didn’t want the attention. The VAR Guy was wrong. A few days after the event, he received an email from her.
In it, she wrote: “I just read your Top 100 Cisco Highlights and I didn’t see anything on the Red Hot Mama’s of Los Gatos … HAHAHA Only Kidding….” She also provided recent photos of the Red Hot Mama’s meeting in Ventana, Calif.
For the sake of privacy, The VAR Guy has decided not to post the photos. Unless, of course, the Red Hot Mama’s insist that he do so…
