Lenovo Launches Newest ThinkCentre M, Edge Series PCs

 Computer maker Lenovo launched a slew of ThinkCentre M and Edge Series desktops and all-in-ones (AIOs) sporting third-generation Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) Core vPro processors, including the super thin ThinkCentre Edge 92z with a 21.5-inch high-definition display.

The AIOs feature Intel Small Business Advantage, which provides a set of tools for remote management of energy settings and PC updates. Other features include a an optional 10-point multitouch display and Lenovo’s View Management Utility to manage multiple active displays, integrated Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) technology and videoconferencing capabilities.

Aimed at SMBs, the ThinkCentre Edge 72 includes support for two independent displays with standard VGA and DVI ports so users can work separately on two monitors, while the ThinkCentre M72z, designed for tight spaces in education and medical facilities, offers an optional wireless keyboard and mouse and third Generation Intel vPro i3, i5 or i7 processors.

The ThinkCentre M72e, which starts at $499, comes in a micro tower, small form factor or a new tiny form factor — “a one-litre desktop,” as Lenovo calls it. The ThinkCentre M82 is designed for corporate computing and comes with a highly secure Trusted Platform Module security chip and more efficient thermal levels.

The ThinkCentre Edge 72 starts at $439, the ThinkCentre M72z starts at $599, the ThinkCentre M82 starts at $599 and the ThinkCentre M72e starts at $499, while the Edge 92z starts at $699. All models, which are slated to hit the channel between June and September 2012, feature Lenovo Enhanced Experience 3 (EE3), which uses RapidBoot technology for faster startup times, and BootShield technology, which continues to maintain fast boot performance even when multiple applications are installed over the life of the system.
