Erickson: At age 12, I was a lawn mower repairman for my local neighborhood.
The VAR Guy says: You must have been pretty skilled to be able to fix lawn mowers at such a young age! If The VAR Guy's lawnmower broke, he wouldn't have the slightest clue how to fix it.
Erickson: A 1965 AC Cobra with a Ford 427 engine—midnight blue with two silver stripes.
The VAR Guy says: This is one of those classic cars that comes to mind whenever you think of something fast and sleek. Riding with the top down in the summertime must be a dream come true.
Erickson: I went to Disneyland in California with my wife and 3-year-old son.
The VAR Guy says: If Disneyland California is anything like Disney World in Orlando, we bet you had an awesome time!
Erickson: I’m torn between, “All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten,” by Robert Fulghum and “Oh, The Places You’ll Go” by Dr. Seuss—two truly great books!
The VAR Guy says: Robert Fulghum's bestseller is chock-full of simple wisdom and other thought-provoking messages, and has sold more than 7 million copies in the 25 years since it was originally published, making it a bona fide classic. And bravo for also choosing Dr. Seuss—that man was a genius.
Erickson: Our family splurged and got a new pool!
The VAR Guy says: It looks like someone is going to be throwing the best pool parties on the block once summer rolls around …
Erickson: "How It’s Made," on the Science channel. My son and I have hundreds of hours of it saved on our DVR that we like to watch on Saturday mornings.
The VAR Guy says: The only thing that hasn't been discussed on this show is how the series itself is made. How's that for meta?
Erickson: I wanted to be an architect. I wanted to be the next Frank Lloyd Wright.
The VAR Guy says: Even if you aren't a real architect, you can still pretend to be one, just like George Costanza on "Seinfeld." It (mostly) worked for him!
Erickson: "Fletch," starring Chevy Chase, because it’s mindless, fun comedy.
The VAR Guy says: Although we've never seen this one, it looks like some pretty hilarious stuff, given the fact that Chevy Chase almost always delivers the laughs. Consider this one added to our growing list of must-see films.
