The VAR Guy has spotted the next big opportunity for solutions providers. Whether you call it city WiFi, public broadband or municipal wireless, there’s growing demand for VARs that know how to deploy, integrate and maintain wireless networks across towns and cities.

That’s why wireless mesh hardware providers are launching partner programs. One prime example: SkyPilot Networks has signed up nearly 50 channel partners to sell, service and support its wireless mesh solutions. Eager partners include CenturyTel, which will use SkyPilot’s equipment to offer WiFi across the town of Vail, Colo.

Now for a shameless plug: VARs can learn more at MuniWireless 2006: Minneapolis, a multi-day conference that includes sessions for service providers, integrators and solutions providers. The conference is hosted by our sister business, MuniWireless.com.
