VoiceLog Releases TPV Best Practices Report
September 21, 2005
VoiceLog LLC (Booth 207) provider of third-party verification services says it has released its new report, Best Practices in Third Party Verification, which lists 24 recommendations for meeting regulatory requirements and successfully obtaining customer consent.
We hope these guidelines will be useful both to the telecom and utility clients we serve, and to other companies that may be interested in using TPV to eliminate fraud, reduce disputes and increase customer compliance, says Larry Leikin, vice president of VoiceLog. Weve spent a lot of money on the research that went into these recommendations and were glad to offer them to the industries we serve.
VoiceLog developed the guidelines based on its nine years in the third-party verification industry; the company distributed an initial draft to state PUCs, consumer advocates and others, gathering comment to incorporate into its recommendations.
Some of the recommendations include making sure companies use a truly independent verification company, VoiceLog says.
This meets regulatory requirements and increases the legitimacy of the process for consumers, making it less likely for them to dispute a recording.
VoiceLog also says companies should insist on high levels of service, and that verification scripts should be as short as possible. VoiceLog further has teamed with PHONE+ to sponsor a Webinar that discusses the Best Practices in Third Party Verification report.
The Webinar was held in August but remains available online at wwww.phoneplusmag.com for solutions providers and other companies to access. The session included the latest in TPV regulations and how to ensure compliance; techniques to reduce the risk of slamming liability; and script and technological techniques proven to increase TPV success rates and sales.
