Where Everybody Knows My Name
The VAR Guy has been a road warrior this week, making stops in Minneapolis, New York and now Boston. Tired from all the travel, our resident blogger refueled at a local watering hole in Boston this evening. He felt right at home. But let's rewind to the start of the week. First up was a trip to Minneapolis for a small IT executive event, followed by a visit to local rib joint. Mmmm. Pass the hot sauce.

The VAR Guy has been a road warrior this week, making stops in Minneapolis, New York and now Boston. Tired from all the travel, our resident blogger refueled at a local watering hole in Boston this evening. He felt right at home.
But let’s rewind to the start of the week. First up was a trip to Minneapolis for a small IT executive event, followed by a visit to local rib joint. Mmmm. Pass the hot sauce.
Next up, a day trip to Manhattan, where our resident blogger listened in as SAS, Bank of America and Accenture representatives described key trends in business analytics. The event was down the street from the Radio City Music Hall.
Finally, The VAR Guy is winding up his week in Boston at another small IT executive event. During an evening walk, he ran into one of his favorite destinations: The Bull & Finch Pub, otherwise known as “Cheers.”
Ah, The VAR Guy missed plenty of evening college classes watching Sam, Norm, Cliff and the rest of the Cheers gang. Hard to believe the TV show ended its run 15 years ago — in 1993. But at least the bar that inspired the show remains a landmark.
Despite being a New Yawker, The VAR Guy felt right at home in the bar where everybody knows his name.
