Adaptiv Networks, a cloud-native SD-WAN-as-a-service vendor, has acquired the assets of LiveQoS, which provides network technologies aimed at improving the quality of experience (QoE) for applications over the internet.

Adaptiv said the acquisition will further strengthen its “technological leadership” as it relates to service-specific quality of service (QoS) and QoE improvement, and edgeless SD-WAN. Adaptiv will be able to improve its offering, accelerate its plans to better serve its valued customers and pursue its plans for growth, it said.

Financial details of the acquisition weren’t disclosed.

Bernard Breton, Adaptiv’s CEO, tells Channel Partners the acquisition will “enable us to accelerate the development of differentiating capabilities in our SD-WAN solution, by leveraging the LiveQoS technologies that enable better network and service performance over TCP and UDP networks.”

“The expertise we are getting, along with the patents and technology, does place us as a technological leader in the SD-WAN space with 20 relevant SD-WAN patents,” he said. “This will enable us to accelerate our development and deliver more value to the end customers of our partners, making us a more relevant partner. We expect to be in a position to provide detailed road map information to our partners by mid-February.”

The LiveQoS portfolio offers solutions enabling SaaS providers, computer and networking OEMs, and enterprise-class organizations to accelerate their internet performance and to do so consistently, according to Adaptiv.

“The acquisition is really made to strengthen our SD-WAN solution so it is effectively not changing our strategy,” Breton said. “As such, the key mandate of the LiveQoS R&D team is to integrate their technologies, which are top-class IP-processing technologies, in our solution to improve and differentiate our SD-WAN manager service.”

“Combining LiveQoS internet acceleration technologies with Adaptiv Networks cloud-managed SD-WAN solutions will create more value for the Adaptiv Networks customers,” said Salim Nensi, LiveQoS’s CEO. “The LiveQoS team is excited to join a company which has clearly stated its goal of leading the SD-WAN revolution and we are looking forward to contributing to this success.”

Adaptiv serves more than 250 customers, with more than 2,500 sites deployed through 25 partners across North America.
