Big-data management provider WANdisco has launched a new channel program.

The company, a provider of big-data services for Hadoop, is working with companies such as Oracle, Teradata and Hortonworks. It currently has about 20 partners.

Peter Scott, WANdisco’s senior vice president of business development, tells Channel Partners that when it comes to big-data management, “it really is a partner-driven market.” The new program is geared toward infrastructure and technology partners.

“WANdisco addresses industry problems that many of our partners face,” he said. “Frequently, our customers aren’t sure how to implement or deploy Hadoop solutions across data centers. That’s where WANdisco comes in. [Our] goal is to unify big data and bring it to a new level.”

The overall goal of the program is to drive growth by helping customers expedite the time it takes to get from lab to production, as well as closing the gap between time and value, Scott said.

More new channel programs will be introduced at Cloud Partners, a Channel Partners event, Sept. 16-18, in Boston. Click here for more information and to register.

WANdisco has a series of technology partners focused on infrastructure (storage), and IT management companies involved with solving the big-data needs of enterprises. In addition, the WANdisco partner network consists of regional VARs and global distributors with large networks of reseller partners.

The program offers features such as biweekly training webinars aimed at Hadoop, Subversion and Git users and administrators, and enterprise training programs for all personnel. It provides insight for partners to implement and deploy its active-active replication technology to data clusters globally, Scott said.

In addition, partners receive reference kits, how-to kits and live support as needed.

“In 2016, we can expect to see our channel program continue to play an active role in data centers, regardless of region,” Scott said. “With the strong demand for reliable, scalable, distributed computing, we’ll continue to see strong interest in big-data technology solutions. We’ll continue to deliver the robust and intelligent solutions that large enterprises require for their mission-critical distributed systems.”

Last week, WANdisco announced the availability of its Subversion 1.9 open source version control system. This latest version includes new features and bug fixes.

“Subversion 1.9 improves on the existing product by providing a number of efficiency and quality control features that major customers have been requesting,” said David Richards, WANdisco’s CEO and co-founder.

Also last week, WANdisco announced Nokia Networks has expanded use of its big-data technology to deliver continuous availability with performance and scalability for its Subscriber Data Management (SDM) offering built on Hadoop to manage and streamline telecommunications.
