Cologix announced it closed a deal to acquire Colo5, a colocation and disaster recovery provider in Jacksonville and Lakeland, Florida, making this Cologix’s ninth acquisition and broadening its presence in Florida.
Colo5 has more than 225,000 gross square feet across two enterprise-grade hurricane resistant facilities in Jacksonville and Lakewood. More than 100 customers, ranging from local enterprises to Fortune 500 brands across finance, retail, media and system integrator sectors belong to Colo5.
“Colo5 has built a highly robust and credible set of data center operations, validated by its impressive list of growing customers,” says Grant van Rooyen, president and chief executive officer, Cologix.
With this acquisition, Cologix now supports more than 850 customers across its North American data center platform, which now spans eight markets and 20 data centers. Cologix now operates network neutral data centers in Columbus, Dallas, Jacksonville, Lakeland, Minneapolis, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, but Williams said Colo5 CEO Doug Recker and the rest of his 20-plus team would remain with the company under the combined operations.
