MegaPath has expanded the security capabilities of its managed SD-WAN service portfolio to provide higher levels of security and threat intelligence.

MegaPath’s SD-WAN Enterprise service now will integrate with Fortinet cybersecurity technology. It will provide customers with “another comprehensive, multi-layered security solution that safeguards business networks and information assets against emerging cyber threats,” MegaPath said.

Dan Foster, MegaPath’s president and chief operating officer, tells Channel Partners that his company’s partners can opt for a managed service that integrates Fortinet’s security fabric with VeloCloud SD-WAN technology, or they can opt for a secure managed SD-WAN service that uses Cisco Meraki technology.

“MegaPath’s Managed SD-WAN portfolio gives partners the flexibility to offer a solution that’s the right fit for their customer’s business need, size and budget, whether they’re a large distributed enterprise or a midsize business seeking a low-cost entry point to the popular networking technology,” he said. “As a total solution provider, we also give partners the ability to bundle SD-WAN with internet and voice, which drives stickiness. When we look at our own SD-WAN sales, every $1 of SD-WAN sold is bringing with it $3 of internet and voice sales. That’s huge, especially when you’re dealing with an SD-WAN market that’s exploding at a 90 percent annual growth rate.”

SD-WAN is replacing MPLS, and MegaPath already has migrated many customers from MPLS to SD-WAN and “we’re in the process of several migrations now,” Foster said.

“SD-WAN is ideal for any business that simply cannot afford downtime because it provides improved application performance and redundancy, without sacrificing security,” he said. “It also plays very well in the distributed enterprise space because you’re able to network remote locations together quickly and easily using IPsec, oftentimes while reducing broadband costs.”

MegaPath’s latest advanced security service is available with its SD-WAN Enterprise service, including MegaPath RED, the premium SD-WAN package. MegaPath also offers an SD-WAN Pro service at lower price points.

“Organizations are increasingly adopting SD-WAN technology to keep up with shifts in enterprise traffic usage toward the cloud, but integrating secure SD-WAN can be a challenge for highly distributed enterprises and branch offices,” said John Maddison, Fortinet‘s senior vice president of products and solutions. “MegaPath is expertly leveraging the open nature of the Fortinet security fabric to integrate our leading security solutions with leading networking technologies to deliver secure SD-WAN to their customers.”
