MetTel Opens New Network Node in Chicago

Reseller MetTel announced Wednesday that it has added a newest network node; this one in Chicago at zCOLO data center in the 600 South Federal Street building.

MetTel already operates nodes in its headquarters city, New York City, as well as in Dallas and Santa Clara, Calif. They are interconnected with most wireline and wireless service provider networks.

The additional network node is part of MetTel’s plat to grow and diversify its network to get closer to clients and improve disaster tolerance and reduce latency, according to Ed Fox, MetTel’s vice president of network services.

The nodes load balance services and monitor client networks for increased security and expedited service problem identification, notification and resolution.

In addition to continuous network management, the company’s MetOne Portal allows clients to monitor the performance of their customized networks in real-time to optimize network utilization. The portal also centralizes all customer inventory, billing and help desk functionality.

MetTel offers integrated wireline and wireless services to clients throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.
