TPx Communications just enhanced its SD-WAN solution to solve work-from-home challenges.

The managed service provider introduced private traffic segmentation to its solution to help home-based employees segregate their work-related network activity from recreational internet activity. TPx also announced virtual managed services routers (vMSRs) that connect sites to AWS- or Azure-based virtual infrastructure without the installment of physical devices.

The SD-WAN solution can also provide MSR clustering, which large networks with many remote sites can use to scale upward. Companies can cluster together physical or virtual edge devices in order to increase tunnel capacity and bandwidth.

In addition, TPx has made the platform compliant with PCI and HIPAA standards.

The company’s executives said the changes make life easier for business with remote workers as well as those with “thousands of physical locations.”

“Now more than ever, resilient and secure networks are critical for businesses of all sizes, whether they’re connecting remote workers, distributed sites, cloud infrastructure, data centers or medical centers,” said Jared Martin, TPx’s vice president of MSx managed services. “Our enhanced SD-WAN solution fills these gaps as network demands continue to task the ways businesses operate.”

TPx launched its SD-WAN solution in 2016, back when you still knew it as TelePacific. The company touted the ability to spin up new locations and monitor network performance through a single pane of glass.

Jim Delis, the company’s senior vice president of national channel partner sales and channel development, last month commented on the state of the channel.
