Cybereason Teams With SoftBank Distribute Endpoint Security Technology
Cybereason Inc., is partnering with SoftBank Corp., to distribute the Cybereason Endpoint Detection and Response Platform, and provide managed services in Japan.

Startup Cybereason Inc., announced today a joint venture with SoftBank Corp., to distribute the Cybereason Endpoint Detection and Response Platform, and provide managed services in Japan.

Under the deal, the firms formed a new company, Cybereason Japan Corp., which becomes the exclusive provider of the cybersecurity technology in that country.

SoftBank is an investor and customer of Israeli-based Cybereason.

“Expanding to Japan is an important milestone in Cybereason’s global growth,“ said Cybereason CEO and co-founder Lior Div.

“SoftBank’s unique position in Japan, combined with their strong support and vast resources is accelerating our path to market in a region that has unique needs and operates very differently than the U.S. and Europe,” he said. “Cybereason is not only pioneering a new approach to breach detection and response, it has disrupted traditional startup growth and go-to market models, with Cybereason Japan being a perfect example.”

Cybereason’s platform employs silent sensors at all endpoints that continuously collect information and communicate to the Malop Hunting Engine, a big data, behavioral analytics platform that detects complex malicious operations.

Employing machine learning, the system hunts cyber attacks in real time, enabling users to quickly respond to advanced threats.

Customers can adopt the technology as a managed service or as a cloud-based deployment.

“Cybereason super-charges the ability of security teams to defend against cyber threats and significantly reduce security costs,” said Amane Kito, Group Chief Information Security Officer at SoftBank Corp.

Last month, Wipro Limited, a global information technology, consulting and business process services company, announced it would offer the Endpoint Detection and Response Platform as a managed security service. The system has been integrated into Wipro’s Security Intelligence Center.

In February, Lockheed Martin Commercial Cyber, which offers managed security services for leading enterprises around the world, announced the launch of Wisdom EDR, which also relies on Cybereason’s technology.

Now the platform is rapidly gaining sales traction in Japan, said Shai Horovitz, CEO of the newly formed Cybereason Japan Corp.

“We’re already protecting more than 40 companies, among them, one of Japan’s largest industrial manufacturers,” he said. “We are paving the way for a simple and powerful solution to solve the cyber security challenges in Japan.”
