Ingram Micro (IM) has been named as the latest Premier VMware Authorized Training Center (VATC), allowing the company to administer courses on VMware’s (VMW) product portfolio. The distinction makes Ingram Micro one of only four Premier VATCs in North America and the only distributor to offer “After Dark” VMware technical training courses (accelerated evening training programs) and the Public Sector Smart Enablement Program. The courses will be carried out as part of the Ingram Micro Training division.
“As a Premier VATC and leading VMware distributor, Ingram Micro brings together its Advanced Computing Divisions and Ingram Micro Training business unit to provide the resources, support and technology our channel partners need to work better, earn better and ultimately service their customers better using VMware technology,” said Scott Zahl, vice president and general manager, Advanced Computing Division at Ingram Micro U.S., in a prepared statement.
Ingram Micro Training customers will have access to the entire portfolio of VMware certification training classes, including vSphere: Install, Configure Manage version 5.5 and VMware Certified Professional Datacenter Virtualization course curricula. In addition to VMware’s training courses, Ingram Micro Training currently has more than 70 technical training courses onsite, online and “After Dark.”
“VMware has a strong and successful relationship with Ingram Micro and sees tremendous partner value in Ingram Micro Training and its VMware certified instructors,” said Frank Rauch, vice president, Americas Partner Organization at VMware. “We’re pleased to recognize Ingram Micro as a Premier VATC and look forward to building on our mutual success.”
Just last week, Ingram Micro also announced it had been selected as an authorized IBM Global Training Provider, wherein the company will provide IBM Training’s complete software and systems courses portfolio to European, Asian and North American customers when the program launches in Q2 2014.
