MegaPath Inc., a provider of managed IP data, voice and security services in North America, today announced at the Gartner Enterprise Networking Summit the availability of its Business Continuity SSL service, which provides workers with remote access to the enterprise network and information systems in the event of a disruption, such as a power outage or natural disaster. The service is available through MegaPaths indirect channel.

MegaPaths Business Continuity SSL delivers enough capacity to handle instantaneous peak usage, so that employees and other network users can gain access to applications from any Internet connected device.

Unlike most business continuity plans that require investments in additional equipment, the Business Continuity SSL service scales to meet a customers demands without any capital investment, the company said.

The service combines clientless access, dynamic policy management and 3DES encryption, allowing customers to retrieve information and utilize business applications without having to install any client software or undergo any special training ahead of time. Employees can go to a Web site and enter the same username and password that they use to log on to their PCs in the office, and they instantly have access to all of their network files and applications.
