Sprint has unveiled three new IT services to help customers and their partners more securely manage their mobile devices and applications.
The company this week launched Samsung Knox Manage, an enterprise mobility management tool; Secure Web, a cloud-based security platform for the internet; and Secure Private Access, a Zscaler cloud-based platform.
A Sprint Business spokesperson confirmed to Channel Partners that the offerings are available to partners, with “additional details forthcoming.”
Samsung Knox Manage helps IT administrators protect and manage their organization’s mobility offerings. The platform is a well-established Samsung product that integrates with smartphones, tablets, wearables and other mobile devices.
Sprint’s Mishka Dehghan
Mishka Dehghan, Sprint’s vice president of product, said the management capabilities will give the administrators improved security, stronger control and better system performance.
“Knox Manage is a terrific solution for all of Sprint’s business customers, but in particular, Sprint’s small-to-medium-size business customers due to its affordable price and robust capabilities,” Dheghan said.
The product comes with Knox Configure, which speeds up the deployment of customized mobile devices.
“Samsung is helping Sprint Business customers to further empower IT administrators to keep their organizations more secure and productive,” said Eric McCarty, vice president of mobile B2B product marketing for Samsung Electronics America. “Knox Manage will provide those businesses with simple and comprehensive tools to secure and manage a wide range of mobile environments.”
The other primary product launched this week is the aforementioned Sprint Secure Web Launch, which partners will sell on an as-a-service basis. Cloud-security provider Zscaler powers this solution – as well as Sprint Secure Private Access – which was announced in tandem. Zscaler allows businesses to obtain direct internet access in cloud and mobile environments. Sprint Secure Private Access will give employees access to the company’s internal application while preventing them from entering the entire network. Sprint says this product will be useful for freelancers, short-term employees and partners.
“Sprint Secure Web combines Zscaler’s industry-leading platform with Sprint’s managed network services expertise and commitment to exceptional care to offer business customers the best experience in cloud-based security,” said Al Caravelli, vice president of worldwide global alliances and channels at Zscaler.

Sprint says the new Secure Web offering complements its SD-WAN product; the carrier partnered with VeloCloud in 2016 to launch an SD-WAN offering.
“Sprint Secure Web delivers a solution that allows businesses to address real vulnerabilities and security challenges — so much of their network and operations tie directly to the internet,” Dehghan said. “This solution offers superior protection for their locations and employees with all the benefits of the cloud for speed, flexibility and service. ”
Sprint two weeks ago introduced a plan to push harder into federal and public-sector markets. The company’s vice president of governmental solutions told our own Edward Gately that the expansion will increase the number of opportunities for Sprint’s channel programs.
The company also partnered with Cox to use the cable provider’s broadband infrastructure in order to “densify” its network. Their agreement came after a five-year court battle over patent infringement.
