Datto Human Resources Director Nicole Kenaga says the company looks for "passionate, innovative, talented, creative and driven individuals."

Data backup and disaster recovery (BDR) and business continuity (BC) vendor Datto is planning to increase staff in its Tech Support division to 125 technicians by the end of 2014, the company revealed today in a blog post.

The company said the goal to increase technicians in Tech Support by 257 percent is a direct result of its dedication to partners, challenging other IT companies to compete with the percentage of in-house support.

Datto employed a total of 35 technicians in Tech Support at the start of January 2013, Datto said. Additionally, the company noted that the number of technicians in the division jumped to 72 at the beginning of January 2014 — an increase of 106 percent.

Datto Human Resources Director Nicole Kenaga spoke told MSPmentor that Datto is looking for technicians who are "passionate, innovative, talented, creative and driven."

"With passion being number one, it's that intangible, internal fire that will push them to go the extra mile, a characteristic that all of our employees take on without blinking an eye," she said.

Datto Support Vice President Victor Mathieu will continue to lead the company's support team, searching for new talent in the process.
