ADTRAN Delivers SMB Hosted VoIP with 911 Functionality
March 19, 2007
ADTRAN Inc. today takes the wraps off a new multifunctional hosted VoIP solution for SMBs that supports least-cost and 911 call routing. The NetVanta 1355, which is targeted at SMBs with 500 or fewer employees at one or multiple locations, acts as a SIP gateway, does power over Ethernet switching, offers security and provides Layer 3 QoS capabilities.
The 1355 is an evolutionary step beyond the 900, said Dowling Bowman, product manager.
Four watts of PoE is available on each port, unlike some competing products that support PoE only on a subset of ports and often budget power among the various ports.
A managed switch in the CPE device allows for end-to-end circuit control to guarantee QoS and service availability from the network to the desktop IP phones.
And in this product, ADTRA offers 2GB uplink ports and up to three T1s of bandwidth.
The NetVanta 1355 has a list price of $3,295 and is available for worldwide distribution.
