AT&T is adding Microsoft Lync to its unified communications package for businesses.
Users now may conduct voice and video conferences over PCs, tablets and smartphones running operating systems including Windows, Windows Phone, iOS and Android, AT&T said this week. There’s also real-time document and applications collaboration, as well as instant messaging.
AT&T said business users may run Lync on-premise or as part of its Office 365 cloud-based services.
The partnership between AT&T and Microsoft involves revenue-sharing and is not exclusive, according to reports. AT&T targets businesses ranging in size from startups and SMBs to large enterprises.
