bcgi and Exomi are developing a mobile messaging management and content filtering solution for mobile operators and MVNOs.

The two companies will combine bcgi’s Mobile Guardian and Exomi’s Messaging Gateway products to allow the control of messaging traffic, with easy integration to existing messaging infrastructure. Operators can cut off spam and other unwanted messages before they hit the SS7 network, and put SMS management controls in the hands of the subscriber.

“With the near-ubiquity of message-capable phones, issues around unwanted and harmful content and mobile bullying are growing threats, and the management of this traffic is becoming an increasing burden on mobile operators,” said Tom Erskine, bcgi vice president and general manager of access management. “Together, bcgi and Exomi are able to provide global customers with the most sophisticated tools available for combating these threats.”

Service providers can create global block lists, and can offer value-added services to subscribers, including personal block lists and a Web-based Subscriber Care application, implementing a variety of charging models for the service (i.e. per entry or per month) and personalizing the user experience with an optional Web/WAP interface for remote subscriber list management.

The partnership with Exomi is bcgi’s first under its recently launched Global Alliance Program, which gives systems integrators and resellers the opportunity to work closely with bcgi to grow and better serve their customer base through two partner models.
