Bell Atlantic Mobile To Purchase Frontier’s
Wireless Properties
In a move that expands its North American wireless footprint, Bedminster, N.J.-based
Bell Atlantic Mobile will purchase Rochester, N.Y.-based Frontier Corp.’s interests in
wireless properties, which do business under the name Frontier Cellular.
Bell Atlantic currently owns 50 percent of the cellular network, which operates in the
New York cities of Binghamton, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Utica/Rome; four rural
service areas in New York state, including Chautauqua, Franklin, Jefferson and Yates
counties; and two rural service areas in Pennsylvania, including Bradford and Potter
counties.
