GE Security is better known in the high-tech security world. So why is it turning its focus to telecom? Jim Clark, vice president of global sales and marketing for GE Security, will answer that question during his special address at the Fall 2005 Channel Partners Conference & Expo, Sept. 20-22, 2005 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.Clark is a 15-year veteran of the security industry. He will share his perspectives on why the security division of GE a multibillion-dollar company and one of the most valued and recognized brands in the world is suddenly interested in telecom and its channel. Clark will put solutions providers on notice to a sweeping change in the market toward convergence of not only voice and data, but also video, security and in-building controls, which all are IP-based.The worlds of telecom, IT and security are coming together all at once, says PHONE+ Group Publisher Marla Ellerman. The security market is at the forefront of much of what solutions providers need to know, and GE Security is one of the biggest names in the business. Were thrilled that Jim Clark is coming to the Channel Partners Conference & Expo.Clark joined GE in 2001 and is an executive board member of the Security Industry Association (SIA), as well as chair of SIAs Education Committee. He also sits on the board of the Open Security Exchange. A business graduate of the University of New York, Regents, Clark also attended Northwestern Universitys Kellogg School of Business where he studied marketing.The special address takes place at 1:15 p.m. on Sept. 20.
