As part of its rollup strategy, Evolve IP, Wayne, Pa., announced Tuesday that it has acquired the assets of IPiphany, a managed communications provider based in Rolling Meadows, Ill., giving the cloud service provider a greater presence in the Midwest. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition will expand Evolve IPs footprint by adding a local presence in the Midwest. Evolve will be adding IPiphany’s sole location in Rolling Meadows to its offices in Philadelphia and Las Vegas. In addition, the deal will add customers in the Midwest, however the size of the customer base was not disclosed; Evolve IP serves approximately 700 organizations on its own.
In addition, Evolve IP will be retaining all IPiphany employees, but did not disclose the number, as a “continued point of contact” for IPiphany customers. IPiphany President Pete Langas will serve as senior vice president of the Midwest Region for Evolve IP.
IPiphanys signature offer, OnePipe Service, is a managed digital phone system combining high-end phone system features and functionality with Internet, long distance and local calling services on one consolidated bill. IPiphany’s customers will be migrated to the Evolve IP platform, giving them access to additional cloud services, such as virtual private cloud infrastructure, hosted virtual desktop, data backup and cloud unified communications. Migration is expected to happen over the next few months with no service interruption.
Evolve IP CEO and co-founder Thomas Gravina said in a press statement the company is “looking to acquire companies like IPiphany, and will move quickly as opportunities present themselves.”
Evolve IP’s COO Guy Fardone told Channel Partners that the company is ”evaluating many opportunities in many industries (cloud computing, security, unified communications) in all geographic areas.”
“This is a land-and-expand strategy,” Fardone said. “Acquiring customers and establishing a base of operations in strategic locations. Find the right company with the right customer base and technology and cultural fits.”
IPiphany is Evolve IP’s third acquisition. The company previously acquired Lyrio IP Technology and TeleQ Network Solutions.
