Ron Ireland, a familiar face in the indirect channel, has landed a new job several months after leaving GLOBALINX.

On Thursday, California-based SimpleSignal, a provider of cloud unified communications and IP services, announced it has hired Ireland as its senior vice president of finance and business development. Ireland will oversee daily financial operations and business development, and expand SimpleSignal’s reach in the channel.

The news comes about three months after GLOBALINX said Ireland had departed; he had previously serviced as president and CFO of TMC Communications, which GLOBALINX purchased in 2010. Last fall, Ireland stepped down as GLOBALINX’s vice president of channel development as changes in his personal life necessitated a move to Colorado. GLOBALINX requires its senior executives to work at one of its two facilities.

Ireland has worked in the indirect channel for 14 years and his background in all aspects of the industry made him an ideal candidate for SimpleSignal, said CEO Dave Gilbert.

Ron brings a diverse skill set and a lengthy list of industry connections to the table,” Gilbert said in a prepared statement. “He knows every angle of the business and he is a very welcome addition to our already talented growing team.”

Ireland said he admires SimpleSignal’s “commitment to the indirect channel.”

“Im really excited to be a part of bringing their new cloud technologies to companies small and large,” he said in a press release.

SimpleSignal specializes in cloud PBX and SIP trunking, as well as UC that includes mobility, voice, backup, storage, conferencing and more.
