FairPoint Communications claims Level 3 Communications owes it $6.2 million, according to a report.

FairPoint’s subsidiaries (Vermont LLC and Northern New England Telephone Operations LLC) last week filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in Concord, N.H., the New Hampshire Business Review reported.

The suit claims Level 3 owes FairPoint $4.3 million for accessing its lines in New Hampshire, with additional debt incurred in Maine and Vermont.

Level 3 declined to comment on the case to the New Hampshire Business Review.

Earlier this month, FairPoint announced that Teresa Rhodes Rosenberger, its New Hampshire state president, had resigned from the company. Pat McHugh, FairPoint’s vice president and assistant general counsel, will assume the duties of state president until the company fills the position.
