Global Crossing on Wednesday launched Global Crossing Mobile IP Connect, which allows mobile and remote workers to securely connect to the Internet from thousands of hotspots and access points around the world.

Global Crossing developed the service with the help of iPass Inc. Mobile IP Connect is available to agent partners to offer to enterprises.

Global Crossing said the product ensures information integrity by configuring corporate security policies before granting access. Mobile IP Connect also provides centralized billing and detailed usage reporting so companies can view each end user’s remote access charges.

Mobile IP Connect can be integrated with Global Crossing’s Remote VPN Access service or used as a fully hosted service.
