RingCentral's Unified Desktop Application Offers New User Experience
The solution is available on Windows PCs and Macs.
RingCentral on Tuesday unveiled its new unified desktop application for improved enterprise communications.
The new unified desktop application includes RingCentral’s message video phone (MVP) capabilities. It streamlines the experience in a single offering. The application is available on Windows PCs and Macs.
Lisa Del Real is RingCentral’s vice president of global partner programs. She said now more than ever businesses need technology that allows them to work from anywhere.

“The majority of organizations are currently faced with working remote full time, which makes collaboration tools all the more important for workers to stay productive,” she said. “Our channel partners continue to see growing demand for UCaaS solutions now more than ever given the current climate.”
The RingCentral unified desktop app supports collaboration across a “highly mobile, dispersed workforce,” Del Real said.
“By focusing on simplicity and providing integrated message, video and phone capabilities, RingCentral’s unified desktop app allows users to switch real-time between devices and modes of communication, including team messaging, calling and video meetings for an entirely seamless experience,” she said.
Other key features include advanced search functionality and third-party integrations. The app offers integrations with several business productivity applications such as Microsoft Office 365 and Google.
“There’s a growing sentiment that users have to compromise, choosing either greater product accessibility or a more secure, reliable experience,” Del Real said. “That doesn’t have to be the case. We think this will be a real differentiator and competitive advantage for partners.”
Remote-Work Advantages
Many business are struggling with the shift to remote work, she said. But having the right collaboration tools impacts productivity and the bottom line.
“With this desktop app, we’re putting all the necessary communication tools in one easy-to-navigate interface that’s accessible from any device,” Del Real said. “This will help teams adapt to the challenges of working from home and, ultimately, make long-term remote work a more viable option for many businesses.”

“For enterprise communications users, easy-to-navigate solutions with a modern interface [are] a must have,” said Balkaya. “But these users are on the go now more than ever, which means they also require a multimodal application that works the way people truly work.”
Last month, RingCentral rolled out its new video conferencing service. RingCentral Video (RCV) is available as part of RingCentral Office, AT&T Office@Hand and Avaya Cloud Office.
