Sage Names Lewis as CEO, Rolls Out Wireless Broadband
February 1, 2006
Sage Telecom Inc., a Texas-based CLEC, this week named Terry W. Lewis its CEO, in addition to president, a role hes held since June 2005.
Sage Telecom board members also elected Larry W. Carter as chairman of the board. That seat was vacated in early January by Sage Telecom founder Dennis M. Houlihan, who resigned as CEO and board of directors, citing health issues. Carter is president of Affiliated Telephone, a service provider in Texas that services businesses and government entities.
“These actions prepare us for the future as we strive to continue the incredible success we’ve experienced under Mr. Houlihan’s leadership, Lewis said. He has built a solid foundation for us as we execute on the next phase of Sage’s growth.”
Indeed, the management changes come as Sage Telecom adds high-speed, wireless broadband Internet service to its portfolio. Sage Telecom has teamed with Omnicity Inc., a wireless broadband provider in Indiana, to roll out eSageLink in the Muncie area. Sage Telecom plans to roll out the service throughout its 11-state territory during 2006.
