Tone Software, which provides voice quality, network monitoring and management software for telecommunications and IT infrastructure providers, has released the newest version of its ReliaTel VoIP and UC management platform. The announcement came down down early last week and is a major development for the software provider’s international VAR and managed services provider partners.

Reliatel 4.0 includes new performance dashboards, agentless Windows Server monitoring and more remote access for on-the-go IT administrators. The new version also includes a Prioritized Traceroute feature that helps system administrators specifically target which parts of their business networks are causing performance issues. According to Tone Software Director of Strategic Technology Amit Kapoor, the the new release is designed to address three key needs of MSPs, systems integrators and enterprise companies:

  1. More operational efficiency

  2. Lower cost for VoIP and unified communications (UC) services

  3. Improved return on investment (ROI) on VoIP and UC solutions

“The expanded functionalities provided by ReliaTel 4.0 are the direct result of what voice and network teams have stated they urgently need,” Kapoor said in a prepared statement. “The release is specifically designed to help enterprises, MSPs and integrators gain deeper visibility and early insight into service-impacting issues.”

We’ll monitor how Tone stacks up against other UC and VoIP providers like Avaya, which recently acquired RADVISION, and Ingram Micro which recently added a Unified Communications-as-a-Service solutions to its technology offering.
