Versatel Offers Providers Long-Distance VoIP Termination
October 24, 2005
Versatel Networks, a provider of VoIP gateway and service delivery solutions for telecommunications service providers, has unveiled IQgateway, a gateway for long-distance VoIP termination service.
IQgateway, featuring 8 or 16 T1 trunks, preserves existing investments in TDM switches and lowers operating costs by adding IP trunking, the company says. It allows service providers to take advantage of lower IP rates and start sending long-distance traffic to VoIP carriers. The IQgateway is built on Versatel’s EdgeIQ gateway platform technology and comes with an expandable softswitch.
The IQgateway is interoperable with H.323 and SIP-based termination carriers.
Versatel has heard time and time again from customers that they wish there was a trunking solution that can be installed and operated with little to no headaches,” says Robert Mimeault, president and CEO of Versatel Networks. “This was our motivation in building the IQgateway. Extensive pre-configuration, diagnostic systems and certified interoperability combine to make this platform different than all others, and thanks to this unique approach, the time from installation to ‘up and running’ is now under one day.
