Zoom Phone Now Available Globally
Find out how the channel sells the PBX-replacement service.
Zoom Video Communications just expanded the availability of Zoom Phone.
The cloud phone service, which replaces PBXs and provides a full UCaaS experience, now works in 25 more countries and territories. That brings to 40 the number of regions where Zoom Phone offers local telephone service and domestic calling.
Zoom also debuted its Global Select domestic calling plan. Organizations can buy domestic calling for a single price wherever Zoom provides PSTN service. Zoom positions this capability as freeing customers from negotiating agreements with multiple carriers. And, in areas where Zoom doesn’t work with the PSTN, users may bring their own service providers to Zoom Phone. That even applies in highly regulated markets, Zoom said.
The product comes as an add-on for Zoom Pro users and higher. Because the platform supports inbound and outbound calling through the PSTN, it nixes the need for a PBX. Plus, users may consolidate all of their communication and collaboration into Zoom for complete UCaaS functionality, the company said.
Partner Opportunity
Channel partners in the United States and Canada, as well as Australia, Europe and New Zealand may sell Zoom Phone. They have to join Zoom’s agent referral program to do so and sell through one of Zoom’s master agents.
Zoom’s Graeme Geddes
“The fact that we started [in video] and have worked our way back into the voice market really puts us in the position to solve some challenging underlying issues for our customers. And it allows us to innovate at a tremendous scale,” Graeme Geddes, head of Zoom Phone, told Channel Partners in a video chat Tuesday, previewing Channel Partners Virtual, Sept. 8-10.
Product features include voicemail transcription, three-way calling, one management portal, call queues and more.
The additional countries and territories where Zoom Phone now supports local phone numbers are: Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Columbia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hong Kong SAR, Hungary, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Norway, Panama, Peru, Poland, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia and Slovenia.
Zoom, which is in 18 data centers, says it works with four of the largest master agents in the industry to distribute Zoom Phone.
