No shortage of cybersecurity and IT companies announced offerings designed to mitigate the log4j vulnerability.
One of those companies is Datto, which offered MSPs a free script for an endpoint assessment tool. Approximately one-half of Datto MSPs were using the solution as of mid-December.

Technology solutions brokerage (TSB) Telarus onboarded a new cybersecurity provider.
Telarus agents can now sell the offerings of Nord Security. The NordLayer, NordPass and NordLocker offerings operate out of a subscription-based model using a software client.
Telarus joined Avant as Nord’s first two TSB partners.

Microsoft offered SMBs a tailored version of Teams.
Teams Essentials expands the capacities of the free version, going from 5 GB of file storage to 10 GB and from a 60-minute limit to 30 hours. It costs $4 per user.
An analyst said Microsoft knew it needed to launch a more affordable Teams version if it wanted to draw price-conscious small businesses.

Lumen launched a compute platform that speeds up WAN provisioning.
Lumen Edge Gateway helps deploy virtual services to medium and large enterprises in a reduced amount of time. As a result, customers don’t need to perform as many on-site hardware refreshes.

Aryaka Networks added three new managed SASE and SD-WAN offerings tailored to customers’ unique needs.
Aryaka unveiled two managed SD-WAN offerings, one which serves cost-sensitive SMBs. In addition, its new Prime EZ managed SASE offering incorporates its acquisition of Secucloud.

HPE-owned Aruba rolled out an SD-WAN solution geared toward remote workers.
EdgeConnect Microbranch utilizes a single Wi-Fi access point, rather than using hardware. Users of ArubaOS 10 with a Foundation Access Point license can access the offering starting in March.
HPE in 2020 acquired the SD-WAN provider Silver Peak.

Avant and its agents now sell Net2Phone.
The cloud communications provider announced its relationship with the TSB after doing a soft launch with Avant back in the fall. Net2Phone offers integrations with Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, Slack, Zoho and others.
Its benefits include incentives, flexible pricing and white-glove onboarding.

Rubrik will offer its managed ransomware recovery service solution in Microsoft Azure.
The offering helps customer recovery from cyberattacks. In addition, it lets customers keep their data in primary storage for a shorter amount of time.
Microsoft and Rubrik signed a strategic agreement last year.

Advantix is using the Zoom Phone application as part of its SmartSIM Voice solution.
The multicarrier SmartSIM solution attaches devices to the cellular networks that will best ensure data connectivity and redundancy. Now customers can can add a voice service to the data connectivity component.
“While deploying SmartSIMs in various handheld devices for organizations, we discovered an untapped market for combining data and voice service on mobile devices that aren’t typically associated with voice but are capable of high-quality voice communications. Many organizations equip employees that travel or work in the field with separate devices for data and voice,” chief revenue officer Natasha Royer Coons said.
Nerdio‘s managed Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) platform now offers disaster recovery and backup.
Customers using AVD will remain online if Azure goes down in their region, thanks to the disaster recovery feature. Nerdio will failover the user to a different region.
Customers and MSPs can access the capability on the Nerdio Manager for Enterprise platform.

IntelePeer is offering customer prebuilt communication applications in its new marketplace.
Atmosphere Marketplace offers various low-code and no-code solutions which won’t waste developers’ precious time in order to deploy apps quickly. According to IntelePeer, partners, customers, ISVs and IntelePeer will contribute apps to the marketplace.

Big Network is helping channel partners offer connectivity solutions to their customers.
The company, which offers a cloud-managed connectivity platform, launched a new offering for VARs, MSPs, SIs and brokers. The offering brings together VPN, SD-WAN and cloud services, as well as a cloud marketplace.

LG Business Solutions teamed up with IGEL to launch devices.
LG announced all-in-one thin clients and desktop computers that come preloaded with the Linux-based IGEL OS. These select devices are the 24CN650 LG All-in-One and the CL600N desktop thin client.
LG joined HP, Lenovo and NComputing as OEMs that have installed IGEL OS in their devices recently.

There’s Lumen, which launched a new offering to power virtualized services. Datto unveiled a new tool to help MSPs fight the log4j vulnerability. In addition, Aruba launched an SD-WAN offering that remote workers will appreciate.
Partners of all types will want to note the new Microsoft Teams offering that caters to SMB customers. And customers and partners worried about supply chain attacks will want to check out Trustwave’s new solution.
