The UCaaS provider announced a new deployment model.
Experience communications as a service, also known as XCaaS, eliminates barriers betweeen UCaaS and CCaaS. That means creating a single platform that both internal employees and customer-facing employees use.
The company also announced a new distribution partnership with Sandler Partners.

The update lets partner sell Dell infrastructure offerings as a managed service. Dell is making Apex its primary route to market for data center services.

Juniper Networks revamped its intent-basd networking solution.
Apstra 4.0 adds support for VMware NSX-T 3.0 and Enterprise SONiC. The software could already integrate with data center switching from four other vendors, including Cisco and Arista.
A Juniper executive said the update helps customers make faster and more predictable changes to their data center environments.

The cloud communications provider launched a Microsoft-friendly collaboration solution.
Intermedia announced two new versions of its Unite offering, having designed both to work with Microsoft Teams. Customers can add Intermedia’s business features to the Microsoft Teams business collaboration suite.

The carrier is launching a co-branded UCaaS solution with RingCentral.
Enterprise customers can combine RingCentral’s UCaaS platform with Verizon connectivity. They can also integrate RingCentral’s messaging,video and phone platform into various applications.

The wireless network edge solutions provider launched “second-generation” 5G offers.
The portfolio includes multiple wireless edge routers and wideband adapters. In addition, Cradlepoint is planning to launch a moduler modem in the fourth quarter.

The virtual events and meetings provider is offering Microsoft Teams integration in its newest offering.
PGi unveiled PGiConnect, a new brand heralded for its interoperability with other collaboration platforms. For now, the offering lets users ial into Teams meetings through the PGi audio network.

The cloud data management provider announced new Office 365 storage capabilities.
The company’s Backup for Office 365 portfolio now allows native archiving to cold storage with the three big hyperscalers. Veeam will also allow backup to object services like Azure SQL.

MSSPs need to proactively combat cyberthreats instead of reacting to them.
So says Nuspire CEO Lewie Dunsworth, whose company unveiled a new security operating system. The platform consolidates various tools and adds threat intelligence and gap identification.

The San Mateo, California-based company bought Secucloud, which gives it a platform for firewall as a service, secure web gateway and advanced threat detection. Aryaka has taken a best-of-breed approach to security up until this point, and customers will still be able utilize that sales motion.

Rubrik scaled up its ability to remediate ransomware.
The vendor has added automated mass ransomware recovery capabilities to help customers recover from attacks more quickly. Partnerships with Palo Alto and ServiceNow are making that possible.

Palo Alto Networks bolstered its network security stack.
The vendor’s new capabilities help customers obtain a “zero trust” posture; for example, integrated cloud access security broker (CASB) designed to stay abreast of proliferating SaaS applications. The capabilities also include an advanced URL filtering service.

Contact center provider Nice expanded its relationship with RingCentral.
The expansion combines RingCentral’s message, video and phone (MVP) platform with Nice’s cloud contact center software. As a result, customers can access an integrated UCaaS-CCaaS solution from a single provider (RingCentral).

Rackspace Technology launched a VMware-based cloud services offering.
Rackspace Services for VMware Cloud allows customers to manage VMware cloud environments in a consumption-based, self-service fashion. The services utilize VMware Cloud Director on Dell EMC VxRail. Rackspace’s vice president of private cloud said the companies worked closely to enable new customer outcomes.
“This isn’t just another hosted VMware product,” he said.

NetFortris added a managed next-generation firewall to its SD-WAN solution.
The vendor is utilizing the Palo Alto Networks VM-Series, which provides anti-malware, intrusion prevention and other security features. As a result, customers can access a single-box solution for SD-WAN and security that NetFortris can manage from its cloud orchestrator.

Every technology vendor – from storage to contact center – is working to improve its security posture.
Maybe it was the RSA Conference at which countless big-name companies announced new offerings. Maybe it was recent high-profile cyberattacks that have put vendors, partners and customers on high alert. Whatever the case, the channel saw a continued influx of security solutions that can keep threats at bay.
An SD-WAN provider added a managed virtual next-gen firewall through a partnership. Aryaka bought a security provider to bolster its SASE capabilities. And an MSSP unveiled a new security operating system.
Vendors are increasingly looking to consolidate security capabilities into a single platform. Avast, for example, brought endpoint protection and patch management onto the same SMB platform.
Our editors have been covering more than security. We wrote about several announcements in the UCaaS and CCaaS markets, and in some cases, we wrote about convergence between the two sectors. Microsoft Teams remains a hot topic, as several vendors announced new integrations and combabilities with the collaboration app.
