Dell Technologies will partner with Red Hat OpenShift to co-engineer OpenStack solutions.
The partnership will create validated systems and container-as-a-service offerings for Dell’s Apex subscription-based infrastructure offering.
Days prior, Dell updated its Apex portfolio for VMware Cloud.

Chicago-based Avant brought in a big security name in Akamai.
The new supplier agreement gives Avant partners the ability to sell API and application security from Akamai. Akamai also provides protection from account takeover and DDoS protection.

Lenovo added more than 50 servers to its data center portfolio.
Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions updated its warm water-cooling technology and launched a new cloud-based management platform. Company executives said the portfolio update marked a three-times larger expansion than the company has ever made.
The vendor bought IBM’s x86 server business in 2015.

Former IBM infrastructure services unit Kyndryl launched a data integration platform.
Kyndryl Bridge offers AI-powered analytics and recommendations for IT leaders to help them manage their environments. It reportedly reduces monthly incidents per server by 74%.

AWS added a managed infrastructure-only cloud virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) offering to its desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) portfolio.
OK, so that was a lot of words. But what AWS is promising with its WorkSpaces portfolio is the ability to scale existing VDI infrastructure in AWS-supported areas in order to lower latency and increase performance.

Satellite communications on the iPhone? Sounds neat!
Well, not really. The upcoming iPhone 14 from Apple lets users use satellite communications to send and emergency text messages if the phone is out of Wi-Fi, LTE or 5G range. According to Apple, it took years to develop this capability.

One smartphone story deserves another!
Samsung unveiled a “rugged” Android phone designed for frontline workers. The durable Galaxy XCover6Pro will arrive in the U.S. this week.
Samsung executives said that rugged devices either are consumer-grade and cease to be rugged when the case comes off, or are enterprise-grade but too expensive.

Cloud services distributor Jenne added a new portfolio for SD-WAN and SASE.
Aryaka Networks signed a distribution agreement with the Ohio-based firm. Aryaka’s offerings range from SMB-focused managed SD-WAN to enterprise-focused managed SASE.

Oracle NetSuite announced several offerings at its annual conference.
First, Netsuite introduced an accounts payable automation solution, which executives said will create a more seamless buying experience.
Netsuite also unveiled a configure, price, quote solution and a workforce management solution.

Energy internet of things, which Abundant IoT is offering as part of its portfolio, allows businesses to plan and manage their energy usage. According to CEO Vince Bradley, the new offering comes as businesses brace for environmental, social and governance (ESG) scores next year and are trying to free up space in their budgets.

Nvidia launched a set of cloud services designed to help developers build Metaverse applications.
Omniverse Cloud lets users design 3-D workflows without a GPU-powered client. The service expands Nvidia’s Omniverse Enterprise platform.

Barracuda‘s extended detection and response (XDR) platform now includes its CloudGen Firewall.
Executives said the integration creates more visibility and reduces product silos. It builds on Barracuda’s 2021 acquisition of XDR provider Skout Cybersecurity.
Barracuda also added SOAR capabilities and another feature.

Salesforce expanded its Customer 360 software platform.
Those updates include adding its Einstein bot to its Sales Cloud in order to improve the pipeline process. And Salesforce now provides real-time data on its Service Cloud Contact Center.

MSP Ensono launched a program that gives customers more engineering capabilities and cloud specialists.
Ensono Flex Cloud Engineering will aid businesses in agile management, cloud platform engineering, DevSecOps and containerization. They also provide expertise in Ensono’s three hyperscaler partners: AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.

The services include model for automation, speech analytics and CX and revenue improvement. According to the vendor, the contact centers that utilize conversational intelligence considered themselves 10 times more likely to be confident about the future.

Big-name technology vendors like Dell and AWS have unveiled new or updated products and services that partners can sell.
Companies all across the world of enterprise IT and telecommunications have been engaging their partners with new offerings. And more and more of these offerings cater to a distributed hybrid workforce that needs to engage with secure, multicloud applications. Dell, for example, partnered to launch container-as-a-service solutions for its Apex subscription-based infrastructure offering.
This roundup of new offerings includes more than just vendors. A few technology services distributors made this list. One signed a cybersecurity vendor, and another signed an SD-WAN/SASE vendor. Yet another one unveiled a service that combines energy and internet of things. On the traditional IT hardware distributor side, Ingram Micro recently launched a digital experience platform. We also included an MSP that added new cloud engineering services for its customers.
