New Technology Offerings for the Channel: AT&T, Datto, Microsoft, RingCentral
A large UCaaS provider took another step into the CCaaS space with a platform partnership.

Comcast Business, which owns Masergy, made another SD-WAN related announcement in April.
The MSO partnered with Cisco to launch a Viptela-powered managed SD-WAN service. Comcast channel execs style the offering as a bespoke, enterprise-focused platform. Channel partners can sell the offering as part of a teamed motion.

New software from Dell Technologies will give commercial mobile PCs and workstations access to multiple network connections simultaneously.
Dell Optimizer operates on Dell’s new commercial laptops, as well as certain Latitude PCs and Precision workstations. The features allows mobile users to enjoy faster data transfers.

Fortinet enhanced its operating system, upgrading its zero-trust network access.
The 300-plus updates include end-to-end traffic segmentation. FortiOS 7.2 also accelerates uptime on the WAN and LAN edge.
Fortinet channel leaders said the offering will help partners secure their customers’ work-from-home employees.

Datto gave MSPs two new continuity offerings.
First, the SIRIS 5 appliance leverages Dell’s server hardware and support from Datto. Second, Datto unveiled Cloud Continuity for PC, which helps protect data on laptops and desktops.

The UCaaS provider added a webinar solution to its flagship platform.
Customers can access the solution either through a browser or the RingCentral Message Voice Phone application. The offering is already available to beta customers and should become widely available in the summer.

Trend Micro is treamlining security operation with its new platform.
Trend Micro One brings together various technology partners, including Palo Alto Networks, Okta, Splunk and Microsoft. The platform covers the cybersecurity life cycle, from assessment to mitigation.
For example, Trend Micro One features external attack surface visibility from Bit Discovery.

Reinvent Telecom introduced a new SIP trunking solution.
The offering allows PBX providers Zultys and 3CX to carry two way SMS traffic across networks. The privately labeled Message-Enabled SIP Trunking from Reinvent supports multimedia messaging.

Microsoft teased its plan for a cloud PC integration.
The next update to Windows 11 will let users switch between local desktops and cloud PC instances. That comes as a result of an integration between Windows 11 and the Windows 365 cloud PC.
Microsoft is getting mixed feedback from customers about Windows 11.

8×8 made a splash in the contact center market by partnering with Genesys.
8×8, which had been touting its own CCaaS offering, has integrated its 8×8 Work offering with Genesys Cloud CX.
Mejeticks CEO Rob Devita said the announcement came as a surprise but made sense.
“This announcement gives 8×8 a true Enterprise CCaaS Partner, similar to the RingCentral and Nice inContact partnership. It also gives 8×8 an additional go-to-market partner for their UCaaS products. Genesys didn’t have a lot of options with RingCentral already being partnered up with Nice,” Devita told Channel Futures.

MetTel launched a mobile-device-as-a-service (MDaaS) offering.
The managed service oversees the wireless life cycle, from deployment to recycling. According to MetTel, the AI-based service is 98% automated.

Ingram Micro, Fortinet and Masergy rolled out an SD-WAN offering together.
The solution combines Fortinet technology, Masergy services and Ingram Micro distribution. It targets reseller partners who want to offer a managed service.

Broadvoice expanded its Microsoft Teams cloud PBX integration.
A new virtual b-hive seat gives remote users access to Teams without the use of a deskphone, soft phone or mobile app. The offering caters to customers whose mobile employees need external calling capabilities, Broadvoice’s chief product officer said.

All AT&T Partner Solutions programs can deliver AT&T’s new multigigabit fiber.
2 GB and 5GB speed tiers are now available to AT&T Partner Exchange, Alliance Channel and ACC Business. The announcement came after AT&T announced the plans earlier in 2022.
“With the explosive growth of fiber, there is enormous opportunity for our indirect sales channels and multi-gig speeds unlock even more possibilities,” said Sarita Rao, president of AT&T’s integrated and partner solutions.

Allstream launched a unified communications platform.
Max UC provides video meatings, voice and messaging. It operates through desktop and mobile clients, which can integrate with Microsoft 365 and Teams.

Redstor’s new machine-learning model detects and mitigates malware.
Specifically, the offering examines backups in servers and laptops, as well as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments. The product is self-training.
Redstor provides data management and SaaS protection.

Prosimo launched a full-stack cloud transit aimed at strengthening multicloud networking.
Prosimo has added cloud asset descovery and dynamic application segmentation, among multiple updates to its machine-learning driven platform.
“Now enterprises can overlay real-time and historical views across any transit element to identify trends, usage patterns and sprawling cloud costs to make intelligent infrastructure decisions. Autonomous multicloud networking allows enterprises to build a ‘cloud interconnect’ that supports IaaS, PaaS and application endpoints connectivity needs across the enterprise cloud,” a Prosimo executive said.

Technology vendors big and small are launching offerings that channel partners can sell.
The IT and telecommunications markets continue to turn to indirect sales for growth.
We saw new SD-WAN offerings from the recently integrated Comcast Business and Masergy. One of those targets the enterprise, and the other specifically supports reseller partners. A much-discussed remote monitoring and management provider launched two new business continuity solutions. And one of the big UCaaS providers took another step into the CCaaS space with a platform partnership.
In the meantime, Microsoft unveiled its latest version of Microsoft 11.
