New Technology Offerings to Sell: Microsoft, Zoom, HPE, Spectrum, More
Microsoft expanded its multicloud security capabilities. Spectrum reached a milestone with Cisco. Verizon added a new SD-WAN offering.

Palo Alto Networks fine-tuned its secure access service edge (SASE) offering to enhance the MSP experience.
Managed service providers will benefit from Prisma SASE’s new multitenant cloud management portal and its open API framework. In addition, the offering uses role-based access control to customize customer environments.

Verizon added another SD-WAN offering.
The carrier added VMware to its managed WAN service portfolio. The offering includes edge devices, a centralized orchestrator and global points-of-presence.
VMware acquired the pure-play SD-WAN vendor VeloCloud several years ago. Verizon was already partnering with Cisco, Versa Networks and HPE Aruba for SD-WAN.

Microsoft made multiple cloud-related moves.
First, the vendor expanded its multicloud chops by making its Microsoft Defender for Cloud offering available on Google Cloud Platform. Previously Microsoft was providing multicloud protection to just Azure and AWS.
In addition, Microsoft updated its Azure for Operators telecom platform. Azure Operator Distributed Services officially integrates the AT&T Network Cloud into Azure for Operators. Microsoft last year purchased AT&T Network Cloud, which AT&T used to run AT&T’s core 5G network.

Spectrum Enterprise is leveraging Cisco offerings in a way few network providers have ever done.
The MSO updated its managed network edge (MNE) services portfolio, which harnesses Cisco Meraki. MNE now integrates the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client into the Meraki solution. According to Spectrum, it is one of the first service providers to make such an integration into a managed Meraki offering.

Nutanix simplified its portfolio to focus on multi-cloud.
The vendor’s portfolio contains cloud infrastructure, cloud management and end user computing offerings. The portfolio also includes unified storage and a database service.
In addition, Nutanix has simplified its packaging, metering and pricing.

Technology solutions distributor Sandler Partners expanded its line card last month.
Omnichannel contact center solutions provider LiveVox signed an agreement with Sandler.
Sandler also announced partnerships with Consolidated Communications, Palo Alto Networks, New Horizon Communications and other suppliers.
IBM upgraded its storage offering.
IBM FlashSystem Cyber Vault storage is a hybrid cloud storage platform designed to reduce recovery time from cyber attacks. FlashSystem harnesses a dual multi-core controller and computational storage architecture to improve throughput and latency.
The vendor also announced tiered support for the system.

Technology solutions brokerage Jenne added a new voice and unified communications offering.
Jenne signed Broadvoice to its supplier stable. Broadvoice targets SMBs with hosted voice, unified communications and SIP trunking solutions. It also offers a virtual call center.

GoTo, formerly LogMeIn, integrated its portfolio on two different fronts.
First, a new GoTo application called GoTo Resolve brought together its support and communications offerings. Second, the vendor launched a new “experience” for its UCaaS offering, called GoTo Connect. Users can access Resolve and Connect on the same application.

Secure access service edge (SASE) provider Cato Networks introduced a cloud access security broker (CASB).
The broker enforces corporate security policies across each of Cato’s 70-plus points-of-presence. It leverages an application credibility engine that Cato unveiled earlier this year.
Moreover, Cato brands its CASB offering as easier and faster to deploy than what its rivals offer.

Kinetic Business, the SMB division of Windstream, launched a unified communications solution catered to extremely small businesses.
The OfficeSuite Express cloud communications system lets businesses of 10 desktops or fewer embrace a work-from-anywhere experience. For example, users can run calls and emails through any device. Kinetic will provide professional installation.

Check Point added code security with its latest acquisition.
The cybersecurity software provider is purchasing Spectral, which provides automated code security solutions. Those services include code scanning, hardcoded secrets detection and and source code leakage detection.
Check Point’s channel chief said the acquisition makes his company’s platform “the industry’s sole consolidated platform, for cloud, network, user, and now code security.”

Zoom officially entered its own solution into the contact center market.
Zoom Contact Center integrates into the flagship Zoom platform. It includes agent, supervisor and administrator features. Zoom up until this point had been running an integration with Five9’s contact center software.
Partners in the U.S. and Canada can sell through the agent model.

Samsung announced six new tablets and smartphones.
The vendor began shipping Galaxy Tab 8 tablets and S22 phone Feb. 25. The tablets can function as a replacement or extension for users’ PCs.

Vijilan Security and IT By Design (ITBD) jointly launched a managed extended detection and response (XDR) portfolio.
The alliance combines Vijilan’s security operations center services and security analysts with ITBD’s MSP-focused network and security solutions. As a result, the company said MSPs get a “turnkey” solution for detecting, containing and analyzing cyberthreats.

Former IBM managed services division Kyndryl launched a partnership with Nokia around mobility.
The two companies agreed to bring together Nokia’s Automation Cloud (DAC) application platform with Kyndryl’s consulting, design and deployment services. The companies have already started building LTE and 5G private wireless networking solutions together.

SentinelOne introduced a new data solution on the heels of an acquisition.
The endpoint protection provider built DataSet using technology it picked up in the purchase of Scalyr. Customers using DataSet can access live data queries and analytics and other features. SentinelOne’s channel chief said the new offering lets DevOps, IT and engineering pull data from the same one unified platform.

Veritas is launching a new version of its data protection and recovery platform.
NetBackup 10 provides what the vendor’s leaders call the beginning of an “autonomous data management vision.” The subscription-based bundle provides deepened support for Azure and AWS archive and storage services.

Technology companies continue to roll out new offerings that partners can sell to end customers.
A plethora of IT and telecommunications providers announced new products and services last month. In particular, many large vendors announced 5G-related solutions that attempt to meet new use cases. Secure access service edge (SASE) remains popular, as Palo Alto Networks upgraded its platform. And of course, cybersecurity stayed hot, with one vendor updating one of its services to mitigate the log4j vulnerability.
Vendors are targeting customers through a variety of channel partner models. In some cases, like that of Spectrum Enterprise, the vendor typically sells through commission-based partners like agents. In many cases, these companies are targeting partners to resell their products. Others are looking to recruit managed IT services providers, systems integrators and other service-oriented partners.
