Passportal, ConnectWise Partner to Offer Password Management for MSPs
Passportal's cloud-based identity and password management solutions are now available for purchase via the ConnectWise catalog of integrated solutions.
Passportal and ConnectWise are working together to deliver password management solutions for managed service providers (MSPs), the companies this week.
Passportal’s cloud-based identity and password management solutions are now available for purchase via the ConnectWise catalog of integrated solutions.
“In order to develop a mature security posture, service providers must make password management a pillar of their strategy,” ConnectWise chief operating officer Jason Magee said in a statement. “Partnering with Passportal allows (MSPs) to not only strengthen their organizational security in an efficient manner, but also gain new sales opportunities with the addition of password management as a service.”
Passportal noted MSPs can use its solutions to “better manage their clients’ passwords, increase security, improve technician efficiency and deliver a new branded, value-added service.”
In addition, Passportal integrates with the ConnectWise professional services automation (PSA) platform and LabTech Software remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform.
Passportal last year announced an integration with ConnectWise to help channel partners streamline the customer onboarding process.
This integration enabled service technicians to leverage auto-created direct links in ConnectWise that correlate to the passwords for each customer in Passportal to provide techs with quick, easy access to passwords, according to Passportal CEO Colin Knox.
“We want to give customers better control of passwords and ensure that they can share information with their technicians in a secure manner,” Knox said.
Passportal President Dan Wensley told MSPmentor that his company offers its password management service on a per-user, per-seat basis, enabling MSPs to support both IT managers and employees who access a company’s network.
MSPs can resell Passportal’s security offerings, per user, per month, or by bundling the service into a larger package of services.
“It’s always been a challenge for MSPs to extend their value proposition to their end users,” Wensley said. “Now imagine an end user, anytime they access one of their several dozen passwords through your portal to gain access. Your brand, your value, is right in front of them every time.”
