Dell Purchases EMC in Landmark $67 Billion Deal
Dell (DELL) in October acquired EMC (EMC) for $67 billion. The acquisition created “the world’s largest privately-controlled, integrated technology company,” Dell noted.
LogMeIn Acquires LastPass for $110 Million
In October LogMeIn (LOGM) added a single sign-on (SSO) and password management provider to its portfolio. The remote access software company acquired LastPass for $110 million, and the move was expected to help LogMeIn drive growth in the identity and access management (IAM) market.
Barracuda Acquires Intronis, Expands MSP Reach
In September, Barracuda Networks (CUDA) announced the acquisition of cloud backup and disaster recovery (BDR) solutions provider Intronis. The acquisition was expected to provide Barracuda with access to Intronis’ network of nearly 2,000 MSPs as well as the Intronis ECHOplatform, according to Barracuda.
BlackBerry to Acquire Good Technology: Here’s What MSPs Need to Know
BlackBerry (BBRY) recently reached an agreement to acquire enterprise mobility management (EMM) software provider Good Technology for $425 million. As part of the agreement, Good’s technology would be integrated with BlackBerry’s enterprise portfolio and global network, BlackBerry said, to create a management solution for all mobile devices.
Autotask Acquires File Sync and Share Provider Soonr
in July, Autotask acquired file sync and share services provider Soonr. The professional services automation (PSA) platform provider noted the Soonr addition “improves business continuity and reduces risk through better security, flexibility, productivity and collaboration of end-client data.”
