Snyk partners can be instrumental in improving overall supply chain security by fostering a fixing-based culture instead of a find-and audit-based culture.
That’s according to Manoj Nair, Snyk’s chief product officer. Snyk‘s platform allows organizations to scan, prioritize and fix security vulnerabilities in their own code, open source dependencies, container images and infrastructure as code (IaC) configurations.
Earlier this year, ServiceNow made a $25 million strategic investment in Snyk. This followed Snyk closing a $196.5 million Series G funding round.
“We have a bunch of things that we’re working on with the partner community, both the SI partners, the bigger ones, and also the channel partners,” Nair said. “We’re helping them with better programs on working with us, but also the knowledge base and training, and partner certification that allows them to take some of the expertise we have built over the years with DevOps and DevSecOps, and how you become developer-aware security. How do you help transform your customers who are trying to make this change from a traditional audit-oriented approach to app security, to more modern developer security aspects? So there’s that certification and training investment, too.”

Cloud commerce marketplace provider Pax8 is teaming up with cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike for a strategic partnership that gives MSPs access to bundled product offerings of the CrowdStrike Falcon platform, available directly from the Pax8 Marketplace. The companies are committed to empowering MSPs to mitigate cyber risk for the businesses they serve. The aim is to ensure enhanced protection in today’s evolving threat landscape.
Pax8 and CrowdStrike have a shared appreciation for the critical role MSPs play in protecting businesses of all sizes, officials said. They help IT and security teams close the skills gap to take on modern adversaries, according to George Kurtz, CrowdStrike’s CEO and co-founder.

Barracuda Networks has disclosed a zero-day vulnerability in its Email Security Gateway (ESG) appliances that has been exploited for the past eight months.
On May 19, Barracuda was alerted to anomalous traffic originating from ESG appliances. ESG manages and filters all inbound and outbound email traffic to protect organizations from email-borne threats and data leaks.
Mike Parkin, senior technical engineer at Vulcan Cyber, said while it’s concerning that the zero-day vulnerability in Barracuda’s ESG appliances went undetected as long as it did, he made waves when he said it’s not entirely surprising given the nature of many security appliances.

AWS is jumping on the hype train that is generative AI with a series of technology updates, targeted at both customers and partners.
Antonio Alonso Lopez, director of partner sales EMEA, AWS, spoke to Channel Futures at the AWS Summit in London this week. He said AWS wanted to democratize access to generative AI for customers.
As such, he said AWS is “very focused” on talking to partners about the opportunities around generative AI. The cloud giant is also looking to onboard partners onto Amazon Bedrock, a managed service for building and scaling generative AI applications.
The exec also cited the launch of Amazon EC2 Inf2 instances for deep learning (DL). AWS claims Inf2 instances offer up to a 40% cost saving compared to other comparable Amazon EC2 instances. Lopez pointed to elsewhere in AWS AI portfolio too, with CodeWhisperer which helps developers apply generative AI to create code.

Cisco is creating more unification and integration across its portfolio, coupled with new offerings in cybersecurity and observability.
The IT giant unveiled a new security service edge (SSE) offering at its annual Cisco Live conference this week. That announcement came alongside a new firewall series and enhancements to Cisco’s Cloud Native Application Security platform.
The Cisco Secure Access security service edge (SSE) offering will enter limited availability in July and general availability in October.
The offering steers application traffic to private data center and public hyperscaler-based points-of-presence destinations.
Cisco executives said the Cisco Secure Access keeps users from needing to reauthenticate throughout the workday.
Jeetu Patel, executive VP and general manager of security and collaboration at Cisco, made waves by comparing it to plumbing. A thirsty person going for a drink of water does not manually select the type of pipe – be it copper or iron – through which they will get their water. They just want the water. Similar, Patel said users and IT teams shouldn’t have to rearrange their “security plumbing” – be it zero-trust network access, VPN or direct – each time they access an app.

The acquisition pairs Amplix, a New England-based firm that sources and consults on technology services for businesses with Belmont, Massachussetts-based CAG, whose offerings run the gamut of wireless services. CAG’s mobility management services include expense management, plan management, kitting and product sales. CAG also provides phone trade-ins and repairs, according to its website.
CAG founder Peter DiNatale is joining Amplix as an executive and will lead a mobility practice within Amplix’s technology products and services group. Amplix chief technology officer Jeff Liberman leads that group. According to a statement from Amplix, everyone in the CAG team will join Amplix and slot under DiNatale. Those employees will also work with Amplix’ sales, account manage and client success teams.
